Mortal Online Leveling Guide – Part 2

February 14th, 2010

Mortal Online gives us the fully customizable set up, from the normal Agility, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, all of which are interchanging!  If you are a cleric or priest, chances are those few points in strength, or dexterity, are going to be the most wasted points in your entire set up, but not on Mortal Online.  You can choose to decease or increase your attributes yourself, not by the game’s dice.

The Mortal Online skill sets are determined by your class, what some call a job, but you aren’t limited to any one class, and some skills will effect a whole different character even, this game will let you know what it’s like, to be in total control of your self.  Maybe it doesn’t have everything we could want, but it’s a step in the right direction!

Though, honestly, short of designing your own game, I don’t believe things get more custom than this.  I will say this, I look forward to seeing my ‘other self’ in all it’s glory, good or bad, he will be by my design, not just another mold.

Mortal Online Leveling Guide – Part 1

Have you ever wondered what a ‘level’ is?  Let me ask you this, does it make any sense in the real world, that poison would only work on people with a level multiple of four?  Or that death is only a fear when your level is a multiple of five?  Mortal Online Leveling up have become a large part of gaming, but why?

They are the numerical values of your avatar’s total capability.  But, why should we be limited?  Why do I need ten million experience, that evenly makes me more powerful?  Have you ever focused on one attribute in a game, for a specific fight, or simply to fit your style of combat?

Well, the level system is based on improving you with balanced stats based on your class.  They call it customizable because it used a random number generator to determine your stat increases within the parameters.

That, I tell you now, is not customized, that in fact is a roll of the dice, to see if your character is going to be limited compared to others.  But what alternative do we have as gamers?  Build up our gear, while we have wasted stats just laying there with minimal or no use?  I say not, let us not be limited any longer in our avatars, our other selves.

Mortal Online will give us all the opportunity for true customization, between the race selection, the interchanging classes, all the way down to our other self’s attributes and skills.  We will no longer be dominated by a single class system, where we work all our days away on an avatar, that is unpopular at the end of the game, to see the character we bonded with siting on a shelf, collecting dust.
